Ian Stewart - (John David Bland)
Ian was famous musician - he played guitar in band "Ground Zero". When the group winded up, he moved in Key Mariah and made a good buy. He acquired beach bar "Tropical Heat". Ian and Nick are the best friends and Ian helps Nick in solving difficult cases, but his the most popular activity is sitting on the beach and brag of his famous rock history. When he started on a journey (he is said to restart his musical career again), his bar is bought by "Spider" Garvan.

"Spider" Garvan - (Ian Tracey)
First time he appeared in episode "Party Girl", when he changed in role of bar owner Nick's friend Ian Stewart. "Spider" Garvan is ex-tennis player. Maybe he was very famous and good at tennis playing (in his opinion he lost win in French Open because of blind referee and in Wimbledon because of windstorm), but he is very talkative today and flirts with every girl or woman he meets. They nicknamed him "Spider" because of his love for spiders. You can see pictures of spider almost on every part of his clothes.
The part of "Spider" Garvan was played by very popular actor Ian Tracey. There are tens of titles in his filmography and I wrote here only short list of those titles:

Rupert - (Graeme Campbell)
I have to say that Rupert is my the most popular man from Tropical Heat (of course except of Nick). His huge bulk, stubble on his chin, gold earrings and very special sense of humor are very characteristic for him. Rupert owns bar and night club "The Dogs". He clothes like gipsy king and makes a Mafia godfather face, but he is good-natured man. Where is the origin of this schizophrenia? When he appeared first time in episode Death's a Beach he was evil criminal, but during the next episodes he became good man and Nick's friend. Such a pity that writers had to delete the part of Rupert from Tropical Heat story. Graeme was taken of a cancer during shooting the story and he died in Toronto. He appeared in episode "Going to the Dogs" last time and this episode was dedicated to him. There was written "Dedicated to the memory of Graeme Campbell "Rupert" 1940 - 1992" in the closing titles but in IMDb is written that he died in 1993. The list of his roles is in the table below.

Lt. Carillo - (Pedro Armendariz Jr.)
How can I shortly describe Lt. Carillo? Spruce moustache, light colored jacket and of course white hat. He is the boss of Key Mariah's police station and he is permanently in the controversy with Nick. He knows that he is not able to solve all cases and he needs Nick' help therefore he tolerates Nick and Nick's style of investigation. Carillo is married, but I think that his wife wasn't shown in the story.
The part of Lt. Carillo was played by Pedro Armendariz (born 1930 in Mexico). Pedro's father was an actor too and that's the reason why he used "Jr." in his name. He played in tens of movies and serial stories (usually shooted in Mexico or in Mexican production) and I wrote only some titles from last years here.

Sgt. Ollie Porter - (Eugene Clark)
Sgt. Ollie Porter is divorced, his ex-wife with 5 year old daughter live in Phoenix. Before he had arrived to Key Mariah, he worked 20 years in Philadelphia as policeman. He came to Key Mariah to search for murderer and they became friends with Nick very soon. He had lots of ideas about police investigation but he saw very soon that things are going their own way. He wants to help Nick but Carillo dislike it and Ollie had to conceal it.
Eugene Clark played the part of Ollie Porter. The list of his roles is very long and you can see here only roles from 90's.

Sgt. Gregory - (Ari Sorko-Ram)
Lt. Carillo dislikes Nick, but Sgt. Gregory hates him. He thinks that Nick is a leech and the worst criminal on Key Mariah. Lt. Carillo has to defend Nick against Gregory. When Carillo disappear from story, Gregory was promoted to head cop on Key Mariah.
The role of Gregory was played by Ari Sorko-Ram. I found only one his other role.

pathologist Rollie - (Allen Nashman)
Pathologist Rollie (surname his brother Jerome is Peters, so I think that his surname is the same) is simple blockhead. He knows nothing except of his dead bodies. He was married but today he is in platonic and secret love with Sylvie. Nick knows it and everytime he needs Rollie's help he abuses it. Sylvie flirts with Rollie and he lets out everything he knows.
The part of Rollie was played by Allen Nashman. I was not very successful in finding information about him - I've found only two other his roles.

cop Deke - (Craig Urbani)
He debuts in episode "May Divorce be with You" (I think) and after that he appears irregularly and more and more often in remaining episodes. At first sight he looks like idiot and when he opens his mouth you learn that he is really booby. He is babbler and unluckily he loves his job. He has one very special skill - he is able angered Sgt. Gregory very much. Sgt. Gregory can't fire him because Deke is nephew of mayor.
Deke was played (in my opinion he didn't play - he was simply standing at some distance and giving very, very stupid face) by Craig Urbani. There is only one other role in IMDB.

Guest Stars
There were hunderts of actors playing in 66 parts of story, but I'm not able to write about all. I've chosen few names that are well known or are interesting for me.
I'm from Czech Republic, so I have to start with only one actress who played in story and is Czech origin. Her name is Edita Brychta, she appeared in episode "The Pro and the Con" as secretary Liz Sage, she worked for Joel Teller (Richard Eden) and loved Dwight Flynn (Steve Greenstein). Dwight was in love with Teller's wife Daphne, so I can say it was not Swedish Threeone but big Bermuda's polyangle. In Czech Republic Edita became famous thanks to role of Anna in movie Akumulátor 1 - English title is "Accumulator 1" - (written by Zdenĕk Svĕrák and directed by his son Jan Svĕrák - both are authors of the best Czech movie from last years "Kolja"). You can see her also in Behind the Palace Doors playing part of princess Diana (she really looks like her little bit) or as Maya in The Secret Life of Ian Fleming.
And now, let me continue with other names that are popular all around the world. Robert Eugene Glazer (sometimes credited also as Eugene R. Glazer or Eugene Glazer) plays in serial story La Femme Nikita. He is the head of "Section 1" and his official function is "Operations". He appeared in two different roles in Tropical Heat - in "Alive and Kicking" as Colt and in episode "The Mariah Connection" as Garitti. But he is not record holder in this cathegory. He was overcomed by Lisa Howard, who played three! different roles in Sweating Bullets: Fay ("Tattooed Lady"), Nancy ("A Perfect .38") and murderer Cass ("Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"). Except of Robert Glazer played two different roles also Jack Adalist (Davey Ray - "Man With the Midas Touch" and Lucas - "Framed Up") or Gwynyth Walsh (Marissa - "Marissa" and Rachael Rockwell - "Alive and Kicking" ).
She became famous during her career of porno star, but she left this type of movies. She is spoken, she was raped by his father when she was 10 and she left with her mother their home in this age. Her name is Traci Lords (born as Nora Louise Kuzma), she appeared as Gwen in episode "Katie's Secret".
